It’ll just sorter lurch and stutter as I drive.
i'm trying to figure out and get help on the same problem....only difference is i already chaged the sparks and the wires. check the link.

I havent checked the EGR yet. But my plans are to infact replace all the crumbing vaccum lines. I have to read in the book for procedure on checking the EGR. Reading all these posts..makes me think. I know the car is getting gas and air, but when Im driving it and level off I must be missing either gas or air. So Ill start with the easiest now, and go for the air. I had my local garage pull codes and I dont have any stored. THATS good news. I believe Ill also buy a fuel pressure gauge. Keep the thoughts coming..Im sure we will figure it out. THanks. John

I don't really have any suggestions to what is wrong, but I had that same problem on my first car. Granted it was a sunbird with the 3.1, but all the symptoms, ok idle, fine accelerating, but surges when you're just cruising. The only thing i can say is that my dad and I just tore the top half of the motor off and gave it a good spit shine and a few new parts in the valve train. That took care of it for about a year until a valve disintegrated in the motor.
