I noticed a little bit of smoke coming from the what looked like the spark plugs but i found oil leaking from my front valve cover is it just the gaskets?

Normally it is just the gaskets, But without seeing your car no one can be sure.

Typically smoke on the engine in that area is a leaking valve cover gasket. If your gaskets leak as you say..I would clean down the engine.. Then replace the gaskets and see if the smoke persists. Unless the car runs badly...that is the only thing that should be able to cause smoke in that area.

car runs good for having 235,000 miles just some smoke and I took it to a trans shop to change the filter the found a big piece of a thrust washer from 3 gear they said that was about a year ago
