Default 92 Bonneville, runs weird while holding pedal steady

Heres a great question and situation I have with my Bonneville SE. I turn the key to the on position and I hear the fuel pump run for the normal 2 seconds, next thing I do is start it...starts fine and runs in idle perfectly ( around 800 RPMs). I put in gear and start cruising.. runs great. I step on the gas and accelerate, performs great! So, I head down the road.... thats when the weirdness starts.. If I accelerate, its performs...but if I just leave the pedal in one position, just cruising.. then the engine seems to stutter alittle. I either have to accelerate or let off the pedal in order for it to go away. Anyone want to try to figure this out? I will say that I do have the floating gas guage when the tanks under half way, and once in awhile it takes a few seconds to start. But other than that...no problems. Thanks in advance and I hope to figure this out soon. John

My first thought is EGR.

Does it do it when you are Stopped and you give it a little gas, just a bit?

No, I dont seem to see or feel any issues upon any acceleration. Just when I level out the pedal after going. It has great get up and go.

EGR? Where did that come from?

Change your plugs and wires, and test your ignition coils per the Techinfo article.
Ignition misses are most obvious with a steady foot.

I said EGR because i knew everyone would says Plugs and wires right off the bat.

So i wanted to throw out some other Ideas. Because if it does it under load then its could be a EGR problem.

With My EGR problem i did not feel it untill i was holding it steady and gave it Just a "bit" of gas it would get worse.

It'* stutter around 1500-1800 RPM and probably goes away after 2000RPM I guess? Same story with many Bonnies.
Mine does the same most of the time, sometimes not.Million reasons can cause it -vacuum leak, coils, wires, plugs, malfunctioning boost(if supercharged) and on and on and on.It'* a great car to practice troubleshooting.

idle/load stumble would probably be ignition.

I'd look into vacuum/egr here. (EGR malfunction is the same as a vacuum leak, except it only happens at low loads)

OK, to answer some questions....
First off, I replaced the spark plugs and the plug wires.
The effect that I feel doesnt happen under load. It it stumbles when its not accelarating or decelerating. It purrs like a kitten when it is idling and roars like a lion when I give her the ole gas.
Npw that it was mentioned.... 1500-2000 RPM would be right around when it happens as if the Bonneville goes into overdrive too soon. It feels like you putting your standard into 5th from 2nd gear. Im going to replace the EGR and see what happens because I do remember replacing some air lines around it and there are more vaccum lines that are a little too old. \
Please keep the ideas coming.. thanks . John

Don't replace the EGR, test it. It'* three solenoids, apply 12V to then and make sure they move. Pull it off and make sure it'* not cracked. Make sure the valves close all the way. Make sure the base isn't cracked.
