Darn, don't have OBD1 codes in front of me. So, what'* a code 22?
Have you checked your plugs, wires, and coils? If your flooding it'* not fuel that'* the problem, it'* electrical. That'* about the best I can do, not as familiar with your year

For pre 1995 GM cars DTC - 22 Throttle position sensor error (signal low). Sounds like you might have to clean the terminals, check the wiring and or replace the sensor.

replaced the tps sensor. it'* brand new. sprayed electro cleaner and it'* still doing the same thing. when it starts it runs for about 8-10 minutes the dies. then it'* hard to star again. i let it set for about an hour then it starts right up then it does the same thing all over again, it runs for about 8-10 mintes then dies again. im at a lost and dont know what to do now but have somebody come get it and let a shop work on it ?

If I had to take a guess, I would say something is warming up a bit and shorting out. Possibly a cracked coil. Check all the wires to make sure nothing is grounding out. Can you pull your plugs and inspect them. Your looking for a plug that'* different, possibly a pair of pugs that share the same coil. I think your coils are some what similar. You should be able to remove them one at a time and check underneath to check for corrosion. It'* possible the error code is being caused by something else.

aren't some tsp'* adjustable? could it be that while the sensor is new, it is still sending the incorrect signal due to needing adjustment?
i had an s10 and was able to adjust a similar problem out.

Per the '93 manual: DTC Code 22 will set if the Throttle Position sensor voltage goes below 0.2V for 4 seconds or more. In other words, you're looking for a loose or intermittent connection in the TP circuit. The manual instructions basically have you wiggling connectors and checking for bent pins, that kind of thing.

well the auto shop has had the car since friday and i called up there this morning and they said that is keeps dying on them and the code 22 still pops up but, ( are you ready for this ? ) they cant find out what is wrong with the car. they are waiting on a call from gm to give them some troubleshooting ideas...... any suggestions now ? they told me i might have to take it to get something re-wired
