Default Strut?

Greetings all;
I discovered this cool little board while searching the net....trying to figure out this exact problem. I'm no genius...and I haven't been in the automotive biz for a long time...but can usually (always 'til now) solve my own problems.
The front end steering components are A-1. Hubs are fine. Tires are fine. Brakes are mildly warped...but not bad.

After searching the net, the only thing I could find was a BUICK service advisory to tighten the strut retaining bolt to take up any slack. It seems BUICK owners where unnecessarily being told to replace their struts when this problem developed..and started getting pissed off. Other than superficial body structure, they are mechanically identical...so the question is...why didnt PONTIAC publish the same service advisory??
I am going to tighten up the 1" nut tonight (before going on weekend roadtrip) . I'll let ya know how it goes.

Stay cool.

Oh ya.... 93 SE, Black.
My third Bonneville!
