Heck...I'll make it happen.
Since Mr. Fabrication is on vacation this week and the wife said no FSM'* on the boat...and I think he'* staying away from internet also...
So let'* nominate Randy the God Of Fabrication aka GOF to put a 5 speed into his 90 with the 97 L67.
Anyone with me?

I'll second that.
I would love a 5-speed in a bonneville to just cruise around in, although my performance in my friends 01 civic tonight left something to be desired, i did make it home. There are times when I feel like shifting and some I don't, so I would have to have an auto SSEi first and then maybe a manual SSE SC...

A civic left you feeling let down. Let me think about this one.
Did it have hud, 9 way seats, SC, enough cabin room for you and a soda?
Ok... admit it. We are not civic guys here, never can be.

1992 SSEI w/5spd
I don't know if this helps, but I recall a co-worker some years ago that had a '92 SSEI with a 5spd manual transmission. Although now, I can't seem to find a single reference on the web for it, alldata.org does show a TSP for a 92 SSEI with a manual transmission. My point being, the engineering for the shifter, pedals etc. has already been done....
here is the alldata link. checkout the 3rd and 8th TSB...there may be more...

First of all, the Getrag 284 from the GP/Cutlass 3.4TDC cars is the only tranny you should even think of. The weight of the Bonne may even make this one problematic. You'll need to mount the tranny, maybe some axle fiddling. They exchange bits and pieces quite easily and the worst case means having one slightly lengthened or shortened with new splines.
You should be able to find some hanging pedals from something that would work. You would need to make room.mounting for a shift mechanism. GMtuners should be able to modify the ecm. For a series 1 you need to have a 3800 Camaro/bird flywheel machined down in thickness. Then it needs to be match balanced to the Series 1 flexplate. Need a good clutch too.
Downside? Not a racer, just too heavy and too many things to break. Cable shifting = slow deliberate shifts, no bang, bang. Great conversation piece/ cruiser, but how valuable is it to be able to say "guess what I have?"

Make my dream come true, and I'll be humping that 5spd SC'd 3800 ... Soon after I get done driving it... Which would be never...
My Bonneville is hot. Manuals in general = Yum. Together, they would make a fine Cajun meal.
As a disclaimer, I think I have heatstroke from changing my oil in the sun. Ignore any incredibly stupid things I say for today
