3rd gear woes and no parking for me!
I have a 97 bonnie which I love and have had her acting up recently. I replaced the upper and lower tranxacle cooling lines as they had some rust holes in them (northern car). The car shifts smooth as can be but will stutter, stall, slip in 3rd gear. This has been progressivly getting worse and last night I couldn't get it to go into park. With one gear acting up and it not wanting to go into park, is my transmission dying?
The car has been taken car of and I'm the second owner. It has 200k miles. Any thoughts>>>>>>>>

Do you believe 3rd gear is shuddering or is it possible it'* having trouble going into 4th?
It is common for the 4th gear output shaft splines to deteriorate (non-hardened originally) and then you end up losing 4th gear. If it were beginning to go, it might seem like a 3rd shudder. Although..that doesn't explain the stalling or parking issues.

Take a look at this and see if it helps any. https://www.gmforum.com/t279700/ Have you checked your fluid? How does it look? When is the last time the filter was changed?
If I had to take a first guess, I might thing the linkage needs adjusting. That might be the park problem.
