more info I took a ride in it tonight.
It starts up fine in the morning, its when after she drives the car, parks it and later tries to start.. it will start but the throttle will go up and down from waht i see its the throttle body acting up. It goes to 1500rpm than goes under 650 than back up to 1000rpm than goes down to 650 and under like it wants to stall and sometimes does. IS it the throttle body? sensor? I dont see how this is ICM related.

okay, okay. so seriously.

it'* possibly the IAC, pull it out and see if there'* a lot of carbon buildup on it. even a little carbon can throw off the calibration and not let it control it exactly.

with the stalling at idle, it seems the most common cause that i've personally seen is a leaking fuel pressure regulator. pull the vacuum line on the regulator and make sure it'* dry. any gas leaking through = bad.

I completly agree -- check codes FIRST.

Unless it'* something obvious, like blinker fluid...or muffler bearings....

anyhew, with a good and proper scan tool, you can see what the pcm is asking for as idle. which makes it a good place to start. if you don't have access to one, check the tech info. there'* a list of people on this very club who will help you out free of charge (though i know a few who wouldn't turn down a or two), and can help sort this problem out much faster...

Get the codes scanned first and go from there....theyre usually right....but not always...

Sounds good guys, ill have her take it to crappy tire to get the code readings, Im sure they cant screw doing that unless they plug it in one of the headlights and tell me there getting code H20 washer fluid.

ok guys it was the sway bar and MAF sensor I belive..
so there we have it..
problems fixed.

Old post, but if anyone else out there experiences this problem: I had the exact same problem on my 98 Intrigue. It was the crankshaft sensor. Replaced it with an econo, and a year or so later, same problem! Replaced it again with AC Delco OEM replacement sensor, and been good ever since. CKP sensor is not all that easy to change. You have to remove the balancer. Once you do that, super quick/easy, but getting that balancer off is tricky.

If a shop pulls MAF sensor code, maybe that'* what it is, but if you change the MAF and the problem persists, I can virtually guarantee it'* your CKP sensor. Didn't throw a code on mine! But that fixed it.
