Default 1998 bonneville oil leak/crank sensor

Hi.Im looking at a pretty nice bonneville here for sale..155k miles.The guys says it has a oil leak and it gets on the wires for the crank sensor which causes a short or whatever.He had it fixed at sears a year ago and its doing it again..anyway.what in that area could be the possible leak?.....also how hard is to do a crank sensor?.any info appreciated.thanks

NIGHTHAWK answered this in another thread that got deleted because you double posted. Any who...

He recommended that you degrease the engine real good, let it dry and then start it up and see if you can see where the oil is coming from. it'* either coming from the front seal, the oil filter adapter palte area or a valve cover.

yeah i posted in the "general" forum then realized there was this section.........how hard is it to replace the front seal or the oil filter plate?thanks again!
