Default 1997 Bonneville SSE High Idle

My Hats of to all of you guys who post here. My Bonneville was idling high and had what sounded like a belt squeek. I reviewed the forum and after reading about the "pull the oil cap off" trick. Sure enough my cap wouldn't come off. I replaced the PVC valve and installed the missing o-ring and my idle returned to normal and the squeek went away. Strange thing is I have had the engine in the car for 3 years and never messed with the PVC and it had a missing o-ring. Anyway THANKS again.

Glad to see you got that fixed. The stuff it does actually puzzles most people into thinking it'* something major.

My friend'* Regal had the similar problem, and he could not believe it was a simple o-ring causing the problem.
