Default 1995 l36 water pump problem repair and cost?

Well on my 1995 bonnie I noticed a tapping/sorta like grinding noise comming from my engine. It started like 4k miles ago at 1st i thought it was the valves tapping then i thought mabey it as a rod bearing... But now I listened closely and it sounds like its comming from the water pump. I was wondering what it costs to replace a water pump and how hard it is to do?

um... your valves won't tap... you have hydraulic lifters... they automatically adjust.

empty coolant, disconnect battery, support engine, remove mount, change pump, reassemble...

$50 tops in parts... $200 or so for a shop to do it.
