We just put a new starter in the car along with a new battery it was working fine for the last couple of days.Today i got in the car and when i try to start it the security light comes on ..i hear one click and nothing.What could be the problem?

What does the security light do? Does it stay on constant. Does it flash? Also, double check your battery cables to insure they are tight and making good contact.

yep unhooked battery cable and retightened them...no the light stays on.i have to take the key out while the ignition is turned and put it back in to make to light go off ...i turned the car off again tryed turning to car on again theres a couple more clicks then the car goes ding ding ding then the security light is back on again.

Could be a VATS issue. You have a key with a resistor pellet to help deter theft. I am not a VATS guru, but, here is one topic that discusses VATS.
