Must be something in the steering making the sounds? Does the steering clunk when going over a bump or any vibrations in the steering wheel?

Yes,

say im entering a driveway to a store and its not even smooth but like a little step or more rough or bumpy to enter it it makes the noise even more and feels bad.

I was thinking something with the steering also.

My car sounded like the front end was gonna fall off. Each bump I hit sounded bad, like somethign was severly loose. It ended up being the sway bar links. 20$ later it was all good.
Now if the car is on the hoist you will not see it since there is different pressure being applied to the sway bar. The way we found it was that I had it on the lift they use for alignments ( drive on ramps) and as soon as he touched it you coudl hear it in the car. Took all of 20 sec to find it too.

Something worth checking. As for the engine knocking, that is never good.

Hey guys ,

ok been through alot with this new Bonnie(the 95)
The crank was sent out and machined and new bearings were installed. The knock is still there and have it narrowed down to the steering rack. New water pump was also install. It has 140 000 kms aperantly and doubting every one.
It was a hit car for sure and trying to find out anything on it before maybe making a complaint.

Could anyone maybe run a carfax for me? VIN # 1g2hz5218s4285316

Thanks

P.*

Can timing be adjusted on a 95 SSEI?

I hear pinging when i drive the car. The car only gets Ultra 94 octane from sunocco.
Under accel at certain rpm level i hear pinging all the time. Sounds like when you use regular gas or timing is not set right. I was told this is not adjustable but something must be done cause this pinging isnt normal.

Thanks for all your help guys.
