I was going thru the delco ones like water.... I put that bad boy in and I haven't had a problem since.
Do you have a part number for that alternator? Mine is on its last limb, and I want to purchase something for the future audio system I am going to install. And do you have an idea on how much you spent on it?

not a bad deal if you never have to replace it again, but $300-$500? is that installed? or just for the alternator itself? If its that kind of price, then I think i'm going to have to wait till mine goes out before I can afford that one

wow you're lucky! only on your 5th alternator. My bonne is on her 7th, and that is almost dead.. so its kinda like she'* on her 7 3/4th alternator
. I know on at least two alternators were rebuilt or used [stolen from the junkyard], just to save money, since it has forever been tight.

My friends alternater died while on vacation 200kms from home on a Saturday. We installed a rebuilt one for $75 bucks..... it got us home and is still running today. (91 Cav)
smoosh: obviously you have all the money in the world, and can afford any replacement, aftermarket, or performance part you want. But here in the real world, not everybody has all the financial means they need, let alone want. Some people cannot afford to buy all new parts, some may occaisonally buy used or rebuilt parts to conserve money. I appoligize if that came out rude, I did not mean it that way, but it is true.
