The other thing you guys can do is install a "Mercury Activated" Switch instead! Simular to trunk lid switches.

Actually it _is_ mercury activated, but its power supply is switched through the parking light circuit. The light does go off when you close the hood, but it won't come on in the first place if you don't have your parking lights going at the time.
