Well I did the tcc test the rpm goes up about 300-400 rpm and as soon as I take my foot off the brake pedal the rpm drops down again. What does this mean. I had a 89 Bonnie when it went into lockup the rpm dropped down to 1800 rpm . our car that we are driving now runs at 2400 at 60 mph.

It appears that lockup is working. Is it going into 4th gear?

X 2. Your torque convertor is going into lockup as it should. Now let'* find out if you are getting into overdrive. Driving at a steady 60 miles an hour, check to see if the torque convertor is locked up (you know how to do that now) then drop the gear selector down into 3rd gear. If the revs go up, you were in overdrive. If they stay the same, overdrive is not working.

Let us know what you find out.

I checked on the way into work today, and my 2001 SSEi runs around 1,700 rpm at 60 mph. If I drop it into 3rd it runs at 2,200 rpm.

Hi in Bonnei land. I stopped at the local automatic trans shop. He is a good friend and I told him about
what the tranny is doing. He went out to the car and checked the oil in the tranny and said it was very good then checked the tv cable adjustment with the throttle . I had thought I had adjusted the tv cable but I adjusted it wrong It was too tight also to tight when the previeous owner had the car. Me friend adjusted the tv cable 2 times and told me to try it. Well as soon as I got on the hiway I couldn't even tell
when the tranny shifted SMOOTH AS SILK It shifts perfect and goes to 1800 rpm at 60 mph
HNLALULIA good good good..Thanks for everyones help duncan
