I forgot to ask could the torque converter clutch sensor or switch could be our problem not causing
the tranny not to lockup..

Try cleaning the MAF, I don't think this is exactly like your MAF, but should be close.

Thanks for the replys. This is a good place to be. Well I put another MAF sensor on that I got from a auto wreckage . Started the car and the engine light went on. so took it off and put the orginal
one back on started the car light stayed off.?????? Would it hurt the tranny to use the car if it shifts into 4th but not into lockup .

I'm sorry to be such a nuicence but I unhooked the battery for a few minutes hooked it backup and plugged in the code reader NO CODES drove the car a couple miles and got back home redid code test still no CODES . hallilulia duncan Is it alright to drive car in 4th but not shift into lockup

Anybody with a 91 Bonny SSE please reply with info at 60 mph how fast is the engine running after overdrive and lockup is shifted Thanks duncan

Hi all I cleaned the maf censor yesterday and unhooked the battery for a while and reconected it today we drove 22 mile round trip no check engine light came on so far Thanks for the help duncan
