Transmission noise?
The other day after changing my oil I had my car up on the ramps and I noticed this metallic like clunking sound coming from my car. It'* been doing it for about 6 months. The sound is only noticeable at off idle speeds and goes away at idle. Sounds like a chain of some kind. Is there a chain located in the transmission? Any other suggestions for what this might be? I don't have any noise when driving down the highway. Maybe slightly noticeable at speeds under 15mph. Tranny shifts good and shows no signs of going out. Maybe I'm just paranoid about something that isn't even a problem.

well mine is definately on it'* way out with over 218K on it. I think i'm gonna find a tranny with a 3.33 set. The funny thing about this tranny is it shifts perfect and shows no signs of going out other than the noise it makes at off idle. I think i'll just drive this baby until she blows up then i'll locate me another tranny. At the rate of that happening it might be another 100K.
