transmission fluid black in colour but doesn't smell burnt.

Well I don't really care anymore. That car is now driven by my mother so all I really worry about it the SSEi. Besides she drives alot better than me so I'm sure the tranny will last another year. I was figuring on changing the fluid out again in about a month or so. Hopefully it will have some color back in it.

Thats understandable... The trans lived as long as it has... Thats a good sign... As long as therte wasn't a lot of friction material in the pan then the trans should be ok... They just get too hot...

when you change the fluid in the SSEi, do the 89 too just for the heck of it

welp, considering how my dad daily drives the thing, there won't be any sludge buildup... and the tranny probably hates him for it, the engine mounts already do :o
