TPS or MAF?...
First question: are the rpms really jumping or is it just the tach moving ? A dirty IAC cal cause erratic idle and stalling like you describe but will usually be a swing rather than a jump.
Now this is sounding more and more like the CPS. That would cause the stalling, and if falsly readying, could be causing the rpm jumps.. and the rpm jumps could be it loosing signal to the ICM, which cause such a brief stall the car recovers.

stupid ?...CPC?...lol
opensourceguy and me were discussing...and he told me that i need to mention some more info..
when i get in speed (30 mph or so)..when is seems like the engine "misses" badly..like the battey voltage will go down to 8- volts...and the lights will dim...
and at idle..the battery voltage tach..wobbles in the middle tach quite a bit

mine is doing something similar I thought it was the TC screwing around .. so I started driving around town in 2nd ... and it would still do it
if it'* happening after a bump or turn normaly(or started that way and just got worse) ... I would bet it'* the MAF... easy way to test ... start car in driveway ... when it'* at operating temp take a screwdriver and lightly tap the maf with the handle... if the car coughs and sputters etc .. the maf needs to be replaced
it could be some of the other things listed by the other members ... but my bet is MAF as it sounds so similar... only problem is I don't have a tach or volt gauge at the moment (speedo and fuel stock WEEEE) so I couldn't tell you if it'* exactly the same

smoosh: did you clean up all the connections last night? Today, i'll take a pic of the wires which hook up from the ICM to Coil pack and the coils to the plugs.. that way you can confirm you've got everything hooked up right, and possibly elimate that miss like it did me.
