Default Shifter ****

I was just wondering if it were possible to change out the shifter **** on the '91 Bonneville SSE model. It'* not a necessity, I was just thinking one day and decided to see if it were possible. If so, which ones work? I'm still learning the ins and outs of my car

I'm not too sure on the 91. But I'd assume any shifter from another Bonneville would fit. Either the T style or the Cobra style. They're very easy to take off.

unless you have a column shifter like on my '87. I know those can be removed too, just not as common.

I have recently found a leather-wrapped shifter on what i believe was a 2000 oldsmobile alero at a local junkyard. The shifter on my '89 se needed replacement, so I thought I'd give it a try. Surprisingly, it not only fit perfectly, but it looks as if it was meant for my bonnie! (maches the steering wheel very nicely) By the way, it'* also a lot more comfortable and better looking than the stock bonnevliie shifter it replaced.
