Sounds stupid, but how the heck do you remove the shifter handle? I've tried pressing the snot out of the little metal tab underneath it but no luck. I've tried this on at least 5 different cars at the junkyard, starting to think its "operator error"

I picked up a 92 Grand Prix and i'm slapping some Bonneville leather seats & console in there, but I cant get a console till I can get a shifter handle off!

Don't push the metal tab. It'* a c-clip. Pull it out, then pull up on the shifter ****.

ps...you may need to press in on the shifter button to lift.

Ahhh, I see! I should have figured Guess its been one of those "brain dead" days for me...
