Well I finally took my car into the repair shop to see what all was wrong with it. Sad to say my estimate was 1,900.00 not including all the problems. Some of my problems are
lower intake leaking oil and coolant
cam sensor
crank sensto
02 senso
mass air flow sensor
exaust converter
timming chain
cracked belt

Some of the codes they got were 13/02 sensor, 41/ dam sensor, 21/ tps voltage high, 48/ misfire and 34/ MAS sensor

I guess when someone took out the auto start they left in a wire that ended up being burnt on the end, so now we are not sure what that may have done. Of course I was told there is additional work to be done and still may not fix all the problems. I guess it is time to get a new car.

look for a 92-95 for that same price of 1900 or cheaper..

Is the car still driveable? Sounds more like the ECU blew, not all those codes. An ECU is very cheap, but i don't know how much exactly. i want to say around $50, but don't quote me on that.

Good luck, but if all those things are actually what is wrong, i would just drive the car into the ground. Even though I hate doing that, but you may as well, because you won't get much for the car anyways.

A 16 year old car can have that many problems. They kinda sneek up on you after so long.

i agree, just drive it into the ground, if that many things are wrong with it, AND its a LE id drive it until it croaks (i drove my se with slipping/hard shifting trans problems until it finally failed when i was turning onto a very busy street heh i had the engine pulled cuz it was just so damn good and shows no sign of ever dying and dropped it in my sse which blew its head gasket and threw a rod at 80mph on the highway, see a pattern here with me? )

I have to say I agree with you all. I just don't have the money to fix the car, even over time. Lets face it if I did have any money I would drive a new model. My plan is to drive it until it won't drive anymore!!!!!! The thing is these are just the problems that we know about, I was told because the auto start wire was left in the car and the end was all burnt, that the computer could be fried and not showing all the problems. When I got the car it had been stored in a garage for about six months. The first month it was fine and then it was down hill from there. I don't know if I mentioned it but the car also needs a new steering rack and sterring return hose which I was told woudl cost about $700. The blue book says the car is only worth $700 in good conditon. It has a lot of rust hidden under spray paint. Oh also to get the car running in good condition it would need radator flush and fill plus tune up ect. I think I am just going to drive it until it won't move.

I had an oil change 3 months ago. Since then I have had to add 3 quarts of oil. Last time I added the oil I could tell it looked dark and cloppy inside, so I new something was wrong, it never looked like that before.

Hey, last I knew, there was a guy up near me that was GIVING AWAY a '90 3800 from an olds 88 (same as a bonnie). If you're at all interested in that, I can give you his number if you PM me. It might not fix all of the problems, but it would take care of most of them. Well, assuming that it'* not just a computer, in which case it'* a reasonably cheap fix anyway.
