Default codes

It may not be that many problems.
Your TPS just may need adjusting to the correct voltage.
Start with the little things and see where it takes you. reset ECU
Then re-check codes to narrow down the next easiest repair.

Default Update

Well 3 days ago I noticed a fuel leak. My step brother (who knows about cars and rebilt his 3800 in his olds) well I had 3 leaks comming from the fuel line. He cut it and put new hose there with clamps. Also fixed one trans leak, it was at the front of the engine, all he did was tighten a hose. Now when I took it into have the diganostic done they said my catalitic converter was glowing RED. So he is going to cut it out and replace it with pipe. He seems to feel that maybe the reason why the car is running so bad. He said I do need to replace the gaskit covers. So there maybe hope for my Bonnie after all. I just couldn't pay what the garage wanted. Any suggestions on the MAS, I think that is right, I believe that was what they wanted so much money for. Do you buy on ebay alot? If so do you have a dealer you would reccomend? Thanks Lori

Default cat

He needs to find out why its glowing red, not cut it out.
The car won't meet emission requirements.
air fuel ratio may be at fault. Bad 02?

Lori..most likely the cat is plugged. (aka constipated). Have him give it a little kick and listen for a rattle. Glowing and rattling are clear signs the cat is bad. Typically you will be running through a lot of fuel which points to a bad O2 sensor and the excessive amount of fuel fries the cat.

sounds like you need a new cat. Probably the most cost effective way is to search around here for the part most have been using...I think it'* a high flow universal replacement cat.... maybe magnaflow...

Taking the convertor out and straight piping it will work, but it is illegal in some places, is bad for mother nature, and you may loose some power due to the drop in back pressure. You can use a universal magnaflow 2.5" in/out high flow convertor and it should only cost you around $50-$60.
