Default Problem with replacement ofwater pump

I have 89 Bonneville LE. I was trying to change my water pump. I removed the belt and bolts on the pump. I can not move the pump at all. I removed 8 bolts ( 4 small and 4 long ones) There two more holes but no bolts on it. Is there something else like a bracket or a bolt to remove? I read the techinfo at this site but 89 seems different there is no bracket connected to alternator or ps pump.I do not want to remove PS pump and the alternator without getting any information. Can somebody help me with my problem? Thank you.

You'd be suprised how hard those pumps get stuck on there over the years. As long as you're SURE you have all the bolts out, take a hammer and whack the end of the pump shaft. If you can't get enough swing on the hammer use something long and hit that. Sometimes it takes a while to get the pump to separate. I can't recall a 3800 w/p that i havn't had to hit slightly to get off.

The two other holes are probably locating pins. Try tapping up & down on the water pump - it should start moving.
