Default question)93, SE 3.8L Engine, Water Pump Replacement.

HI, guys,

Do I have to remove the engine mounting bolt too?. I think only supercharged model needs that job. Can I replace without doing any job for engine mounting bolt?.

Please let me know. Any help woulb be appreciated.
Thanks.

Default Oh...

I read the several tips from this message board and found that I have to remove at least the mounting bracket from the engine.

Here is my question.

Manual says

"Loosen the bottom two bolts on the torque axis engine mount"

"Remove the A/C line clip and top two bolts on the torque axis engine mount, then remove the mount"

Do I have to do those two jobs? or simply Remove the 2 bolts and nut attaching the engine torque axis mount bracket assembly to the front of the engine?

Any suggestion would be appreciated...
Thanks..

I did it but I am not sure. You do have to remove the engine bolt though. Put a couple blocks of wood on top of a floor jack and set it under your engine cause you will also have to jack your engine up to the point before the p/* res touches your strut bar. Doesn't seem their is much left...

Thumbs up Waterpump and engine mount removal-buick 3.8L

I thought it was crazy setup, but after working on it awhile, we got it going.
you have to remove the engine mount and using floor jack support, then remove the waterpump.
see pics and directions in both attached .png files.
sorry, i do have a .pdf, but this forum doesn't seems to support uploading that format.?

Have fun and be patient.
