That is what I said. I had PERSONAL experience with it and yet I am told I am wrong, go figure, I guess I know nothing and am just a dumbass.

I am not saying that, but what I am saying is I have no fluid in my resevoir, and I still have brakes.. they suck, but they work. Its just if you are having some problems or whatever, this will get you home.. but I would stray away from driving the car in this condition.

Randy: dude, where did you find that flarer.. I can only find the "GM Metric Flare Tool" for like $400, i'd rather block off my rear brakes then spend that kind of money on something I'd use once or twice. I wouldn't even spend that kind of money on a tranny! And I would use that daily!

I borrowed the double flare tool from my uncle-in-law. He and his family own a trucking company and have every tool known to man. You can probably go to Autozone and utilize their loaner tool program. I used a steering wheel puller on Thursday from there. I payed $15 and some change and it was refunded upon return.

As far as the bubble flare goes, I first had a dude from Munro Muffler crimp one on. I paid him like $8 or something like that to thank him. He didn't do a very good job though so I ended up importing some pre-flared lines from Canada.

You will need a double flare tool for repair splices. The only time you need the bubble flare tool is if you have to screw around with the line going into the proportioner valve.

Well, good news. Went to advanced auto, they had the bubble flared line. Picked that **** up instantly. Too bad they didn't have the coupler. However, I am going to run to Lowe'* [hopefully this afternoon], to pick up the fitting to connect the two lines I have. I will be tackling this as soon as the rain stops.. once that happens, i'll all for it, then i'm going to return the bender and flarer, and bitch to the AZ retards.. and go to NAPA [yeah, that'* right Kenn, Napa]. loL

Have all of the big three within 5 miles of my house (AZ, Advance, and Pep Boyz) will buy some things from any but each has their strong points and weak points. Also have an AC-Delco jobber a little further and Wal-Mart a little closer. For example light bulbs are light bulbs and oil (premium brands) is oil. Whoever has it cheapest is where I go. OTOH if I need a fuel pump that something I buy with the Delco brand only but again the price will vary significantly & pays to price check.

For gen-u-wine GM parts (and oddball stuf the dealer claims is "discontinued", I use GMPartsDirect. Flow is relatively close and even when they switched to DHL stuff still arrives quickly.

BTW ever since Delco started sourcing oil filters from Champion Labs (Champ), I have been using either Purolator or Wal-Mart Super-Tech. Have been meanting to take each apart and see what is inside.

I guess I can't just "eye ball" it anymore, I am about 6" too short with the line, but I bought a 1/8" block, and blocked off the line, so I just don't have rear brakes, or RR brakes.. either way, I have power brakes again.. which I like. I'm hoping I can run to advanced auto by the end of the week, to pick up the extra line i'll need. Oh yeah, tube benders suck, I used my hands and got much better results.
