I had a burnt out bulb in the tail light of my 1991 SSE, It showed as burned out on the instrament panel as well. I changed the light (lights brighter than the rest for some reason) the light works but still shows burnt out on my instament panel. Any ideas of why.
Help is appreciated.

that happened to me, and it turned out that it was the wrong bulb for the socket....it was relaying wrong....just make sure the contacts are EXACTLY the same...

I did bring in the bulb to a shop to ensure it was the same one, maybe I'll pick a bulb up from a wrecker out on a bonni and see. Thanks

If it is brighter than the rest then it may be installed backwards, or the wrong bulb. I have see when I had a signal bulb go out that it took a while for the car to see the resistance and turn off the warning on the dash.

stop light should be a 2057. you could us 1157 but its brighter.
sounds like the bulbs in there wrong. Try removing it and installing it 180 deg.
