so... it aint my fault but here'* what i did:
i ripped the motor apart and marked where the bolts came from and the connecters came from
i changed the timing chain
i bent a thin peice of metal on the inside of the harmonic, but i put it back really close to where it came from
i had to pull out the spark plugs to put the engine at TDC, i didnt mark which was which, but i doubt they could be put back wrong being that they are of different lengths and only reach so far
i put the car back together
i let it sit for a week
yesterday it wouldnt turn over so i charged the battery (i was bumping the radio wile wrenchin)
today it turns over fine but wont start
it sounds like its not firing at all
where should i start looking for mess ups?
i ve changed timing chains before so its probably not in that part itself but im suspecting its the metal i bent.. i have no idea what it was for which means it was important to this car

another thing i remember, i pulled the spark plugs out, and pulled off the plug wires because they annoyed me
i didnt however mark them in any fashion
so i looked in my haynes manual for the fireing order and the like, but the manual doesnt show the exact setup i have
the closest it comes is what it calls a "1986 to 1988 3.8L Type II" but on the diagram the spark terminals on top are shifted to the back of the motor while mine are shifted to the front
i have the wires in as the diagram dictates but the motor still doesnt start i am however getting a sound, alost like its half firing but just not there

You have a Vin 3 engine, right?
642
351
ignition
module
2 4 6
Front ENGINE
1 3 5
Check the VIN number on your car... Are you saying that the ignition module is on the grill side of the engine and not the firewall? If it is a VIN C, 1, L, or K then it looks like this:
36
52 Ignition
14 Module

all the connections are on the same side of the coil packs
but i cant make sense of your above post
the manual says they should be 3 6 2 5 4 1 left to right from the front of the car

This is what a Vin 3 engine looks like - That'* why I am confused... Look at the ignition module towards the right rear of the engine. Your VIN number should say something like:
1G2HX5K "3" X .....
I guess if you look closely all of the wires do appear to be in a line, instead of one on each side. I would think it would alternate, as in 1 to the front, then 1 to the back, then 1 to the front, and so on... My key looks a little more staggered, but you could interpret it to mean 365412.
