Default HEELLLLPP! WHERE is the fuel filter????

'87 Bonneville, have NO clue where the fuel filter is! NEITHER of the stinking manuals (Haynes, Chilton) tells me, either! I've looked and don't see it anywhere. Does anyone know where it is? Thanks very much for any help!!! :?:

Actually I think it'* the drivers side rear tire on these cars. Just in front of the tire area, looks like a can of tomato paste without a label and with a fuel line connected to each end.

yup, and it aint the quick disconnect like fords got either :P . might want to plan on jacking up the car when doing it, and having a catch pan too for when you do get it off. that sucker is gonna drain a lot.

so remember:

relieve fuel pressure at fuel rail
jack car up
disconnect the out end of the filter
let it drain
come back to it <or you can work while fuel is pouring out if you want>
remove in end
put new one on
turn key on, then off 3-4 times to reprime fuel <if you want a quick start>
start it up
check for leaks

its just that easy btw, make sure you have a good stock of wrenches
