heat is not your friend. anytime you heat a part you are annealing it and softening the steel. This ruins the heat treatment originally mfg into the part for durability.
Especially engine and suspension parts should not be heated unless you want your alignment to continually go out.
thats why I choose to spray the bejeebies out of it with penetrant.
