I knew my gas lines were bad , I didnt want to touch fuel filter as it was pretty rusted.Everything on the car is in good shape, motor running primo! However gas lines are bad from fuel sender to front ,had mechanic look at it he said leave it on(fuel filter) as it is not affecting performance I just thought Ive done everything else I want it changed.Well Im not going to replace them now but he said it would probably be around 800$.Ouch does this sound right?
Drop the tank replace fuel sender ,he said factory rubber lines from fuel sender and then rest of the line being bent and what not.
Anyone think I could do some of this my self , and any tips how to ,and cheaper wat around it.For now I will run till I see evidence of a leak.Thankyou you guys havent failed me yet.

GM dealerships used to stock the 3/8 line for $20 but you have to purchase the
bending tool as it is straight line in the box.
Rusted lines are a pain. Plan on plenty of penetrant and bruised knuckles if you try it not to mention having to drop the tank.
Try another smaller shop that may give you a better price as it sounds excessive.

Well went to the yard and got almosst new lines (no rust) from fuel rail down into rubber to braided like and to the fuel filter about 10 feet if it was stretched out ,he charged me 15 bucks.Boy that was fun, atleast I got to see what Im getting into.This week Ill try for the rest.My tanks not bad but need sending unit and lines , I imagine they are all one, is this correct.thanks

thats correct. They are metal lines out of the sending unit, then they go to rubber with metal ends before the filter.

Gas lines suck...I hate rust!
I have to replace a section of mine too- I'll have to look at the yard my self for those. How hard were they to get out of the doner Bonne? and what was the doner car John?

The donor car was the same 90sse like mine that Ive been tearing apart, It took a while and the ground was soaked.They have about 4 brackets holding them on that were hard to get at from the ground but they are in great shape .I figure they are already molded to fit so it will make it easier.The thing is lines are cheap but the ones ata the engine with rubber are expensive OEM ones unless you make your own somehow.

good to know- thanks John. I might try the same this week. mine are not the greatest near the engine. its only a sopit that is about 2 inches- the rest of the lines are perfect.

They look pretty shitty tho....and the scale has built up...time is limited. But we'll see I guess. Let us know how your changover goes.
