Default Engine Acting up

The engine is acting weird sometimes it is fine and others it has like a miss then goes away might not happen for a couple days then whammo it starts missing for a bit then ok again.
one day when we started the car it didnt start right away and and made a weird sound like it poped and ran backwards, not bad just best I can describe, after did that started and was missing bad we went a few miles did what we had to do came out an hr later and cranked for about 20 seconds before starting again and was still missing bad but when got going down the road it was fine and just intermittent.
wondering if we have a bad plug now seeing as the way it made that spurt when missed at first?

Just the usual questions. Check Engine Light ON??? What have you replaced recently? The Plugs and Wires would be the first items you should replace. And while your at it, you might as well do the Air and Gas Filters as well. You could get a little exotic and check the fuel pressure, but I would replace these parts if they haven't been replaced in awhile.

Default miss

Yes a standard tune up is the first order to solve a miss. This should also include a bottle of fuel injector cleaner.

Actually has been awhile since anyone did a tuneup, no there isn't a check engine light on and last thing actually replaced was the brain late last summer.
Will get on the g/f to do a good tuneup on it this weekend replacing plugs wires and filters and we did run cleaner through it right after started happening.tyvm

we did a tuneup as far as the the plugs wires and air filter and nothing looked bad, we had it start to hesitate monday when we were driving it does this on takeoff so we ran a second can of injector cleaner through and even after the tuneup it still has the hesitation, If we change the fuel filter where is it located on this car that would probably be next I assume unless someone has better ideas.

I would bet that it is the fuel filter...

It is located on the drivers side frame rail just in front of the rear tire.

One other thing that you might do is clean the battery cable ends

My Bonnie had a similar problem,
I cleaned the battery posts and the cable ends
( I actually replaced one of them) and the intermitant miss went away.

Hope this helps, CD

Try checking the coil resistance.
