LOts of us have same problem,I have been trying to fix mine last couple of weeks ,Go in techinfo and under clusterremoval it will tell you how to take it out, some people have disconnected the connections behind cluster a few times as the contacts dont work well over time, however it did not work for me .I have also been told there is some kind of module behind glove box that can be changed that is for the clusterthat is my next step.Others just replace cluster with new or one from wreckers which is cheaper.Taking the cluster out is an easy job just follow instructions in techinfo. The people here are very helpful.

Default cluster

if it went out and came back on its probably a bad connection.
When mine went out it was the fine wire broken in the flat green wire harness behind the cluster.

Default harness

I jumped it with a fine speaker wire.
Followed the wire to each end, marked it and sottered in the jumper wire.
Works great to this day.
