Accually it might work.... they look the exact same, so they should just go together. it would be a interesting experiment.

Alright well i ended up getting a 90 outer lens from a junkyard in philly that was is mint
condition for like 25 dollars so that all worked out.

As for putting the 87-89 outer lens on over a 90-91 housing...It can be done I pulled a few out of bonne'* in the local junk and fitted them on over the 90' housing with no problem all the clips line up in the right places.

I kept with the original look only because all the 87-89 lenses were cracked and I needed a lense asap so I took the best thing avaliable. I'm not sure how the earlier
housing would fit into the 90 -91 model but if your satified with the look you get from the bulb set up of the 90 under the 87-89 lense, you can get the red stripes.
