Yes, direct bolt in!

Mine are off a 97 3800. The mounting plate was different, so I had to modify my bracket, drill, add a few bolts, and it looks strange, but works great. The best thing about it is it makes start-ups easier, and quicker, especially in the wintertime.

BTW, the j-yards gave me a bit troubles. Most of them said they are different. Most said it would not work. It will work, unless they sold you a defect unit.
BTW, make absolutly sure it is off a 3800. ONLY A 3800! Any 3800, minivan, etc, will work.

Repin..if you get the whole setup on those years the mounting plate will be directly under the ICM. IF you go for other years..you'll need to get a mounting plate off the right year.

I'll be restocking tomorrow on these...you guys have been hungry for them lately.

maybe im not understanding, but why is it exactly that the stock coils on a newer bonne are any better than replacing them with ones made for an '89, there is just more spark? So I can pull any old pack off any old car with a 3800, doesnt matter if supercharged or not, as long as it is in between 92/95 it will work, and you guys are absolutely sure that they dont have to be LN3 coils? I know its stupid to ask this many times..but i want to be sure..

Definitly
its a straight bolt on (92-95), connect the harness and the wires and you're set.
I had the newer coils on mine until the other day, and for some reason the ICM is not working...:*
but a difference for sure- I've had the magnavox system back on for a few days and I notice the difference.
The resistence is lower in the newer coils, than in our factorys. and the newer ones burn hotter, and the throttle is more responsive...
JR, JDQ, there are many members that have done this mod, and had much success.

ok i was looking at my coils and comparing them to the 92-95s and saying which way do they go on? because with mine on the LN3 there is a box with posts on either side and with the 92-95 there are 2 on one side and i am downright afraid i might mess up the firing order...

do you have a pic of them on ur 91?

and where did you find your STB for ur 91, jr said they fit from a 92-99 H or C body but cant find one...

I don't have a pic with the coil pack on- I thought that I did-
All you have to do is to get some masking tape- and look at the stock coils- on the side of the coil pack, there are numbers- write the number on the tape of the coresponding wire. after you have removed the old ICM, re-connect the harness, and the wires to the new coils, connecting them to the same number on the new coil pack. there are three nuts that hold the pack to the bracket. they are in an upside down V formation. make sure everything is tight, and go for a drive!

as for the STB, JR is right about the years and body types. I have a few spares, but might be really expensive to ship. Also makes a BIG difference. everything seems that little bit tighter.

i went back up and slapped myself for not reading carefully and noticed bill'* link to JR'* coil install, well that makes it obvious, simply enough, it looks like the top post on every coil goes to the back and the bottom post goes to the front...seems fairly simple.

About STBs yeah shipping would be awful across the border...i will try to find one down here..
