Default change my water pump

I change my water pump this weekend.. It was easy too do. But my car now runs at 500 RPM.. it that o.k ? becasue it was running at 1,000 rpm before.

Do you mean the idle speed? That'* really low, but a consistant 1000 is a little high. I'd be happier with the 500 than the 1000, however, as long as it'* not really rough.

i just dont see how changing the water pump could bring about something like that

did you have the battery disconnectd at any point? If so the ECM will have to relearn
