After scanning my 88 le to find out why the "service engine soon" light was on, I came up with the troube code #34 or 44 or something like that. I went and looked up on the Mitchell on Demand computer program and found the code relating to the camshaft sensor, I disconnected the negative ground cable for about 2 minutes but the light remained on. I looked for the sensor and found it on the front of the block kind of back behind the water pump pulley. Here'* my question, is this an easy change and can it be done in my driveway? also how muck will this set me back, I haven't had the chance to make it down to the part store.

If it is the cam sensor, that is a five minute change however if the magnet falls off the cam sprocket it will set the same code and is a bit more difficult.

Then remove the one bolt holding the sensor on and disconnect the connector, wiggle a bit, and its off. The exercise is left to the student.

so i can leave the belt and water pump pulley on and have it changed in like 5 minutes.

You could. I wouldn't but you could. Belt just takes a minute, don't bother with the pulley unless replacing the magnet.
