Is the power window switch itself any different to allow for the auto down feature? Both my Grand Prix' have this. I wanted to wire it into the 6000s, as well. But I'm wondering how it would work with the switches. As in, how would it know when to "express down", and when to go manual.

The auto down function is not built in to any of the switches as far as I know. It is a timed feature: press down for less than ~.5 seconds = no auto down; press down for more than ~.5 seconds = auto down

I know the colors are wrong. Find what year you get the module from. I mentioned the correct colors for '93 and '87 up above.

Default ALL automatic windows

i put a '90 (base model) door on my '89 SSE. my car did not have auto windows, the '90 door came with the module inside, i just wired it into my factory harness, and it works perfectly. the switch is no different. all you need is that box, with the plug, and you can wire it right in! very simple! OR, you could do one better than that! there is a company called DEI (directed electronics incorporated) that makes alarms/accessories, etc... they've got a module called 530T that does automated windows. it is made to work off an alarm so that you can push a button and roll them down, and they automatically roll up when you arm the alarm. BUT it also adds one touch control for up and down! it does 2 windows. so you would have to buy 2 of them if you wanted to control 4. but it would give you one touch control on ALL of your windows UP AND DOWN! you can find them at most car audio stores, your best bet is ebay though. you can get them for around $75 shipped (each)
