Default 89 Bonnie SSE POWER STEERING HOSES

Howdy all. About to change out the power steering hoses in my car. Anything I have to be aware of to do the job properly? I picked up the one hose, has some rubber on it and some metal tubing parts..the parts guy recommended to just use some good quality rubber hose with clamps for the low pressure line. Is that ok? I got that from him too..5 feet with several clamps. A friend will do the the actual work, I just hold the light and provide ...inspiration. I posted here a few weeks ago about a leak causing smoke to burn off..we couldn't locate anything until now, as I started losing steering fluid and the pump was a' squealing. Guess that was it all along, just took us awhile to figure it out. Thanks..go Lakers..lol..

yeah, not too big of a deal. just make sure you're using good quality high pressure hydraulic hoses and they're not getting routed in the way of anything, and everything is cool.

The only real requirement for a low pressure hose is it has to be oil resistant so the power steering fluid doesn't break down the rubber. It doesn't need any special high pressure hydraulic fittings, hence the term "low pressure hose". Just make sure it is routed so that it won't rub anything hot or anything that might chafe a hole in it. And the hose clamps need to be tight enough to not leak but not so tight that they cut into the hose.
