talked to my gf'* dad today, he looked at the car for me
he'* a honda guy, but he knows about fuel injection, so i'm going to figure he'* right
but he says the fuel pressure regulator.
he says the pump is working fine, but the the regulator is supposed to let off pressure, and it'* not, so the enginr runs until the pressure is too high and the injectors dump it.
this idea sounds right, but i have a limited understanding of fuel injection...
so does this sound right?
i know you guys cant play with the car to figure it out, but he did and this is what he thinks....

I talked to dame on MIRC (which nobody seems to like) but I'll post here for everyone who'* following.
Fuel Pressure Regulator Failure Symptoms:

Engine runs rough
Engine stumbles or sputters
Engine runs very rich - black smoke from the exhaust
Engine will not start
Engine starts but stalls shortly after startup
Noisy fuel pump
Noticeable decrease in fuel mileage

He says he has most of that, obviously he has "Engine starts but stalls shortly after startup". The best thing IS to find out what psi its running at. I've always been more for "Fuckitreplaceit" ya know? But if you have one handy definately check it out. Good luck
