It can have some amazing potential since you are planning on moding it what better thing to do. Then you could keep the engine out of it for you other SSE if you need it in the future.
That GTP sits right here in my driveway. My gf'* father bought it just for a few exterior parts and plans on junking the rest. Its not a question of being able to buy it but wether or not I can make it work in the SSE
It should work no problem.

Go to www.superchargedluminia.com and check out his swap.

If you can put it in a luminia you should have no problem with an H-body. The GTP version of the SC 3800 is probably the best to use because it does not have the funny side motor mount that the SSEI version has. It has those two front dog bone mounts that would be easy to attach to the older Bonne SSE.

It would be much easier if you have a lift so that you can drop the whole subframe from both cars out the bottom. That makes the mechanicle part of the swap patheticly easy. The wiring is a bitch though.

Link doesn't work.

Is it a Lumina or Luminia? I edited your post to Lumina and that didn't work either. My Uncle would be very interested in droppin a 3800 SC into his 96 Lumina...hahaha

The site is down right now. The thing had not been updated in ages though so I am not sure what happend to it.

He might be in the middle of a big update now and that is why it is down. That is what I hope at least.
