Default 1990 SSE Headliner

My headliner is hanging like they all do, it is not torn, my car has a sunroof - question is -
do I take it to my local auto upholstery shop(does anyone know approx. cost to have this done?),do it myself (there are a lot of websites that sell kits for DIY) or does anyone
know if and where I could buy a NOS headliner?

You can either take it in or do it yourself.

Here is a member that actually did his own on a '95. Don't post in that thread though as the staff would grow quite cross. I am sure there are other examples as well, but this one comes to mind.

Gonna cry foul here! LOL. Things have changed a bit RJ. I dont have qualms about resurrecting threads like that with excellent info, pics in them. Things here arent as rigid as the past. Not of the mindset that every old thread may have stale info. Just ones that really dont have well defined answers or somebodies to lazy or shy to make his own. Glad to see you are good at working the Forum search function. Alot here aren't and the database "accident" messed up thread indexing of the old. We lucked out that it didnt affect search.

I did mine. Got the material at JoAnne fabrics. They had the right shade of tan for my '89 SSE. First though I had to take out the shell and repair it. It was crumbling so I recovered it with fiberglass mesh and resin with hardener. One word of warning, it literally took months for the resin to fully cure. I could smell it for a long time especially if the windows were rolled up and it was hot outside. In hindsight,I may have not used enough resin hardener but the smell finally went away.

COST approx $400.00 at G.Lebeau in CANADA to redo it...
But you will need to fix the leak coming from the sunroof otherwise your money investment
will be silly.
The only way I found to fix the sunroof leaking is to seal it for good using roof caulking.
There is no GM spare part for this anymore.
