This is my brain on eggs.....or something like that. I'm totally scrambled. What I set out to do was put all this info in one place. I've seen so many conversations like "you don't have a stock resonator on a 94? Weird man", or "what'* my final drive ratio for 90? what tranny do I have? Beats me!"

This way, everyone will know what everyone else had, we'll know who we can really compare experiences with, who you can ask for a part number off their car, who has the same little cover thingy on their column below the tilt lever, and on and on.

I've wanted this. You can't imagine what I've learned about my OWN car in the last week, not to mention all the other years. Even after all this punishment, I'm even considering going farther back to the EARLIER models. Glutton for punishment, but a passion needs to be fed. I really owe all you guys feeding me info.....you'll have credit when the time comes. Some of you have already seen that if you scrolled to the bottom.....not done yet, gotta add a couple more names.

Anyway, enough of this. I'm producing a Ty-like novel! Time for bed.....got some taillights to paint tomorrow.....got some beer to drink while I watch it dry, got neighbor kids to mow my lawn. Must.......rest........can't.........go........on. .......

Default trans'

I have a '90 SSE. The SSE has a different gear ratio than the other two. The offical name from GM is the GX3. I'll try to find out exactly the two ratios for yas.

I know this because I needed new engine / trans mounts. GM no longer makes them. So I went aftermarket. The new ones gave up the ghost about two weeks after. The fronts were torn in half. Thats when I did some reseach to find that the dealer gave me the wrong mounts.

Default better late than never!

i don't know if anyone cares anymore, but i've got an '89 SSE that has a 3.33 gear ratio i never looked for the designation tag on the trans, but it is in fact the THM440T4 and i think it'* GX3 (as stated) which means 3.33 gear ratio. i have the GX3 code on my RPO sticker. have you given up on the timeline? i notice none of the links work...

Up from the depths of hell, freshly dusted off, another topic from 2 years ago returns to suck our souls out of our bodies.

Please don't dig up old crap, start a new topic. Much of the old information may have changed due to our learning and experience.
