No Fuel Filter?
Does the 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix not have a fuel filter?
I thought it did, but I cannot find one anywhere.
If it doesn't, then what is GM'* good reason to remove it?

I believe the 06 William only had a fine screen type strainer, inside tank, as part of the fuel pump assembly.

Well that makes sense for GM, make the only way to keep our fuel clean one that takes a lot of work to get to, lol

If GM would of used clamp on filters rather than screw on filters that would of been a major plus. The clamp on filters (Mercedes) do not rust to the lines, the screw on GM filters rust to the fuel line, causing huge issues.
Guess GM just eliminated the filter.... not surprised.

Ahh yeah you mean the quick connect ends?
Or actual clamps like this?
If they had rubber lines they could go that route, but not much you can do like that with nylon fuel lines.
I am sure I could mod in a filter if I wanted to, but I have other issues to work on before even considering that.

That was mine on the 96' PA also, luckily I had PB Blaster!I wonder if my lines from the tank are all metal till they get to the firewall...
If I were to install my own I am not sure how I'd even go about it, I am sure it has to be possible though..
If only my plate was not already full!

Very interesting! My PA uses the clips on both sides, and is up by the passenger feet at the bottom of the fire wall. I wish they would have just stuck to that, although admittedly corrosion is not a concern in these parts.

Art, have you ever inspected the small bit of soft EVAP hose behind the filter, and the soft rubber connector at the tank?
I had to replace mine as they were dry-rotted.

Ya Thanks William...
They were ok last time I replaced the filter all the way back, but I do appreciate you reminding me to inspect them with a fine tooth comb for cracks/dry rot!
I will be doing the fuel filter this summer again, and will use a bright LED inspection light & see how they are doing now.
Would not be surprised if they are becoming old & cracking like us LOL..
