RWD conversion speculation
Well a little while back someone mentioned something about a RWD conversion for a bonnie would be something really cool, an i was like wow that would be REALLY COOL!!! and its been picking my brain for a while now on how this could possibly be done and the it was like a ton of bricks hit me in the face yesterday when i was hanging out with my girl friends brother. he has a Camero, I'm not so sure what year it is but it has a 3800 series two in it it looks like this thats when it hit me, couldn't you take the same drive train and use that for the conversion? it seems like it would be somewhat easier to do that, I'm not saying that I'm going to run out and do this it was just something that i would enjoy to talk about this with someone.
heres the motor
to me it just made sense, id bet that a lot of the connectors would be the same. i'm not saying that it would be an easy project to to, you have to do a lot of fab work, but it would be cool.

well you have a ton of factors working against you first motor mounts those wouldnt work from his car to yours then you computer hookups and such im not 100% on that but i would guess and be pretty sure compatability eould be in the low 50% not impossible but a issue. then tranny mount same as motor mount. then you would likely have to channel the body of the car to clear the tranny and driveshaft. then get a custom driveshaft. then link up some kind of rear suspension asn differential. like it was sai before its possible i saw on pinks the other day a guy was running a 93 or somehthing like that berreta. but it ends up being more of a body swap than droping in a new motor. i guess if you had a f body you could salvage it would help a ton and with a welder plazma cutter and some elbow grease it could be a fairly straight forward process. but for cost vs gain i dont think there is a point to it i mean at that point why not buy a f body or a older crown vic etc the only reason i could see doing it was to say i have this car and noone in the world does lol. sweet thought lots of time anywho those are my 2 cents
