when i called summit racing, they told me that you need a coil interface for each coil. the one for the buick GN is just one innterface because they use a magnivox style coil with all 3 contained into one coil pack. these arent needed , but makes wiring much easier.

Yes you need 3 coil pack interface plates. Yes this mod is totally worth it. I was messing with the timing retard at the drag strip and got my times to change from 15.6 to a 15.3. It seemes that if you use the box to retard the timing you can back it off before the stock computer dose. this way you avoid knock and don't let the stock computer over compensate. Seeing as it dose not know that you (or I0 have other mods to help reduce knock. I do use the stage rev limit. It scares the hell out of ricers. Not to mention help my launches. I have also installed this setup on a couple of GTPs. big time improvement. You do not have to spend 500 bucks. just watch ebay for the dis-4 or if you have a smaller pulley you could also you the dis-4HO. MSD states that the HO is for race only use but the truth is they did not spend the money to get it street tested for emmisions. It has a higher primary voltage and works great with higher compression engines, or supercharged cars running alot of boost. Later this summer i'm selling my dis-4 to get a HO unit. I'll offer it here on BC before I put it up on EBAY. It will come with coil pack adapters pre-wired. just hook up + and - and go. If anyone in the chicago land area needs help installing this unit, e-mail me. If your going to buy one, this month is pontiac month at the speed shop i get my parts from. generally 10-15% off anything. Contact Paul at Performance edge in north aurora, 630 859 3666, tell him Martin Sent you. later

second is it has a built in timing retard, you can set it to retard the timing at a certain rpm and set number of degrees to help with high boost and to prevent detonation.
i bracket race and i am very seriously thinking about getting this set up for my bonny.
