Wiring Issues

The wiring diagram I am looking at, shows one fan with a lt blue and white wires in the harness....the other fan connector has grey and black wires......not seeing a red wire.....
Yes if you remove the external wire, the fan should stop.......what I want to know is, with the car running, when you turn your A/C on, does the compressor engage, and does the coolant fan #1 relay click......if it clicks do the fans run?
One test you can do......disconnect that external wire.....with the key on, engine not running, HVAC off, take a needle and pierce the lt blue wire to the left cooling fan.......now run a hot wire from the POS bat cable to the needle......both fans should run at low speed....if they don't run, remove the needle from the lt blue wire, and attach it to the other white wire in the harness....now run the hot wire to the needle.....if the other fan now runs at high speed, it means your fan has an open circuit in it....if the other fan does not run, you have to check for an open circuit between the white wire in one harness, and the grey wire in the other harness....
