HP officejet V40 all in one printer won't print colour
I recieved this printer in new condition and it just won't print in colour only B&W. It states that the print cartridge won't align. I've checked the status of the ink and the colour cartidge is full. This is what I have tried so far.
Downloaded the drivers again.
Replaced the colour cartridge with a new one.
Tried 15 times to auto align the cartridge again.
Bypassed the auto align cartridge.
Removed and replaced the colour cartridge 10 times.
Cleaned the contacts with a cu tip swab on the printer and cartridge.
Made sure the tape is not on the cartridge head which has been put there when new.
Unplugged, let it sit for 5 minutes and plugged the printer back in 4 times.
Rebooted the PC 6 times.
Tried the online trouble shoot twice.
Align Print Heads 10 times.
Checked the make sure it wasn't set up for B&W print by default.
Primed the ink catridge.
Any other suggestion, and no I can not return the printer nor call H P for assistance since there is a charge for this.

There should be a menu option for aligning the print heads or something like that, and i dont see that in your list
Edit: Ooops, cancel that. just hit it with a stick

Call the dumb-ash place you got it from and tell the idoit there that it-a-no-workie. I'm sure they'll happily replace it for free... :P
But seriously folks...
Is it possible that the color cartridge is old and dried out? I know you said the cartridge shows as full, but it may be too old, having been in storage for years...hint, hint. I know the V40 was a good, but older machine.
Just a possibility, I thought.
