I cant wait...
To see the ***** at the tranny shop, he went and fixed my differential and serviced my transmission without my permission and he is telling me I can get my car back when I have $600 to cover the bill. After he told me that I hung up the phone and was getting ready to leave to murder.(thank god for my coworkers) How in the hell can he fix my car without my permission then tell me I have to pay? The last time I checked it was my car and my money and I decide what I do with both. I am off work on Wednesday and I will be at his shop door when they open to get my car back. How can I do this without breaking any laws? I cant pay a laywer they cost more than the repair bill, I cant just take it he has my only ignition key. I think this guy just stolemy car. Its like a kidnapping and he'* giving me a ransom note saying pay me 600 dollars if you ever want to see your car alive. He says I abused my car thats how the tranny blew and he is not warrantying a penny of it.

I totally understand your situation and it SUCKS to be there! I had something similar happen to me. It is not worth going to jail over. You might want to call the Better Business Bureau or some similar organization in your area and I sure as heck would make sure that everyone I talked to knows not to do business with that guy. Don't you have any lawyer friends that you can ask advice? In some places you can go to small claims court and do all the paperwork your self and it won't cost you hardly anything.
Remember- Its not what you know its WHO you know.
Let us know how it turns out.

He has no proof you did ANYTHING. Tell him you'll go to the BBB and then to a lawyer. You never warranted any work on the car, so you never signed a contract to let the shop do work.

Yeah, if you never put your John Handcock (aka Herbie Handcock ) on any document saying you authorized him to do work to your car then he doesnt really have a case against you. If they ask why you took it to his shop, just tell them you wanted only an estimate and never authorized him to DO any work....
